ABOUT

Many words can be used to describe award-winning recording artist Torrey Mercer: advocate, lyricist, activist, composer, survivor, vocalist. Inspired by the likes of Lady Gaga, Hayley Kiyoko and Billie Eilish, Torrey has tapped into the power of using art to draw attention to some of the world’s most pressing social issues. She has logged performances at legendary venues like Nashville’s Bluebird Café and West Hollywood’s Whisky A Go Go in addition to performing on the deck of the U.S.S. Midway in San Diego and during the first ever Bisexual Pride event in West Hollywood.

Torrey is currently preparing for the release of her newest EP, entitled Boys/Girls. The titular song from the EP has already generated considerable buzz for Torrey, accumulating more than 40,000 streams on Spotify while the official music video for “Boys/Girls” debuted in November on Pride.com. It is being recorded at Killingsworth Recording Company in Sherman Oaks, California and is produced by Tyler Connaghan. A second single from the EP, “Boy’s Club,” released in April. Boys/Girls is set to release late summer and will be available for streaming and digital purchase on all major platforms.

Away from music, Torrey is an outspoken advocate for several platforms, including the LGBTQ community, improved mental health and anti-bullying. She supports causes encouraging female empowerment and donates her time to the Los Angeles LGBTQ Center and amBi, one of the world’s largest advocacy organizations for bisexuals. Torrey also has a passion for writing and motivational speaking and can often be found discussing social issues on her livestreams.
